Creatively Uncorked founder and president Shanna Cramer was watching the vision for her painting party business finally unfold on Wednesday, June 1, as she had dreamed.
Cramer and the Creatively Uncorked staff were busy making the last moves into the business’ new West Fargo home at 715 13th Ave. E., Suite 101, to prepare for their first event that evening.
“We’ve been really busy,” Cramer said. “It’s all gone very smoothly.”
In January 2014, Cramer was looking to bring the paint and sip concept to the Fargo-Moorhead area and opened the business in Moorhead. The Moorhead native and staff settled into a space at Moorhead Center Mall, but soon found they would not be able to serve alcohol at events hosted in the mall, edging out the paint and sip concept.
“It was meant to be wine and painting,” Cramer said. “I just wanted a studio where I could serve wine, but we got a full liquor license (from the city).”
The business was granted a liquor license through the city of West Fargo and the new studio will feature a full bar for those painting.
All events at the West Fargo studio “will now be 21 and up only,” Cramer said.
Although events at the West Fargo studio will be for those ages 21 and older, Cramer said she plans to continue hosting private parties with the mobile painting service. Children can attend private parties or mobile events, which have proved popular.
“I’m sure we always will have the mobile painting,” Cramer said.
Since opening, Creatively Uncorked has grown to eight artists, two locations and hundreds of paintings. It offers events in a 150–mile radius of Moorhead. A permanent East Grand Forks, Minn., site opened in May.
Creatively Uncorked will remain on the Moorhead lease until the end of June.
“We will be doing private parties there through the end of this month,” she said.
